Proposal and Estimate
Although local contact is an advantage, regardless of where you are in
the United States, we can work with you. We will provide the detailed
proposal and estimate for the work required. You can initiate our communications
by using our online Contact
Us Form or by calling us at 973 252-7861 in Flanders, New Jersey.
Thank you for your interest!
Regular Design / Meeting Work Rate:
New and redesigned pages - $30 to $100 per page as a rule of thumb.
The redesign of pages and creation of multiple pages that are very similar
can drive the per page price down. Your estimate would provide details
to support the total project quote. You will know exactly what you will
be getting and at what price. We are not quoting on a single per page
rate here because that encourages long pages of information that really
isn't as readable to your site visitors as short, concise pages with
well-planned cross linking. Except in special circumstances, we avoid
long pages. In an initial project, given the same work as is documented
in the project statement, we will honor the total price quoted.
Programming / Special Graphics / Search
Engine Optimization (SEO) Work Rate:
Programming
It may be the case that those similar pages can be dynamically created
according to your visitor's needs and the information on your database.
We will consult with you and can accommodate the required database design
and programming when it is the more practical option. Programmed functions
are offered on a project quote basis depending on your unique requirements.
We are qualified to work with your initial database analysis and design.
Special Graphics
Special Graphics, that may or may not include the use of JavaScript
programming for movement, is required for more complex home and sub-level
pages with features like dropdown menus, roll-over images and and pages
with multi-image graphics formatting. Special Graphics also covers needs
such as animated banners, cutting out your products from an image background
you don't want to use and creation of professional staff photos from
regular snap shots (saving you the professional photographer fees).
We detail your special graphics requirements as a part of the detailed
project estimate.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
It is best to complete your redesigned site before we start the Search
Engine Optimization work. If your complaint is that no one is finding
you on the major search engines, the page information and organization
is the first thing to address. This is because in reorganizing the site,
the page Web addresses may change (to make ongoing maintenance more
cost effective) and you want that to happen BEFORE you start attracting
the search engines with your new search engine strategy.
We will quite possibly be all you need in the way of search engine
strategy and assistance. We've had very good success with those of our
current customers that have chosen to become more proactive with the
search engines (search engine listing applications, pay-per-click programs,
search engine friendly Web pages). In some cases, because of the nature
of your product (e.g. a large product line) and/or the scope of your
market, you may need to use the services of a Search Engine Optimization
company that is in the business to do only that. They will be more specialized
and likely a lot more expensive than our fees but your level of complexity
may require it. As we said, though, our more cost-effective services
may be all you ever need.
Depending on the complexity of the project, our estimate specification
can play double duty. It can serve as a nice detailed checklist of the
content you owe us and when it is due. We want to do what we can to make
it easier on you.
Web Management
We can manage your Web site and Web management as your needs evolve.
From evolving to dropdown menu navigation when you have enough content
to warrant it to managing your permission-based email newsletter or announcement
program when you are ready.
Maintenance fees are normally set on a per hour rate. As an alternative,
you can establish a retainer on our time for a preset monthly amount that
is renegotiable by either of us if we feel that the required time and
the monthly amount are a mismatch. It is a way to know what bills you
can expect and to be able to simply email information to us to add to
the site and not have to think about the time and charges for each little
bit of work.
Details of Work Completed:
In either case, per hour or retainer type of billing plan,
we will provide a list of work accomplished this month along with your
monthly invoice.
With minor exceptions of set work related rates (e.g. email newsletters
have a base set up rate and a lower per issue rate if you use that same
basic format each time), you pay for actual time worked. We bill in minimum
15 minute time increments. You do not pay for vacation time, employee
benefits or, with some exception, training time that we initiate (and
we do that quite regularly to stay abreast of new and more efficient ways
to serve you as your Web developer). We think you will agree that we are
like having a Web developer on your payroll without the add-on costs of
hiring full or part-time personnel. We're part of the team.
